Maze creator with Qobo

This program teaches children programming and robotics in a fun and educational way. They will learn how to use Qobo, program with cards, build mazes and overcome exciting challenges.

Explorers

In the classes the children will learn the concept of programming through cards. They will practice creating movement sequences using pre-programmed cards and experiment with different cards to achieve different and specific results.

Introduction to Qobo and basic programming concepts

  • Session 1: Presentation of Qobo and its capabilities. Explanation of the electronic blocks and how to interact with them.
  • Session 2: Fundamentals of card programming. Introduction to basic commands and how to create motion sequences.

Construction of basic labyrinths

  • Session 3: Design and construction of simple mazes using available materials.
  • Session 4: Programming Qobo to navigate through basic mazes. Introduction to sensors and how to use them in programming.

Maze challenges

  • Session 5: Development of more complex mazes with additional obstacles.
  • Session 6: Practical challenges for Qobo, such as finding the exit of the maze in the shortest time possible or avoiding specific obstacles.

Introduction to programming logic

  • Session 7: Advanced programming concepts, such as loops and conditionals.
  • Session 8: Application of programming logic in the creation of more challenging mazes.

Final Project and Presentation

  • Session 9: Group work to design and build a complex maze with specific challenges.
  • Session 10: Presentation of the mazes created by the students. Reflection on what has been learned and the skills developed during the course.
  • Printed material with activities and challenges.
  • Access to the online platform to reinforce learning outside the classroom.
  • Support from instructors trained in the use of Qobo and basic programming.
  • Children will develop sequential and logical thinking skills by planning and executing Qobo programming.
  • Children’s ability to identify problems, analyze situations and find solutions using the Qobo robot will be fostered.
  • Students will have the opportunity to express their creativity by designing and building mazes.
  • Through group activities and projects, children will learn to work in teams, share ideas and make decisions both collectively and individually.
  • The development of verbal and non-verbal communication skills for sharing will be promoted.
  • By interacting with their peers and collaborating on projects, children will learn to understand each other’s emotions and work together in a collaborative way.
  • No previous knowledge of electronics or programming is required.
  • It is recommended to have access to a Qobo kit and program modules to participate in the practical projects of the course.
