Creating adventures with artificial intelligence: Inspiring young creators
On June 20, 2024, the exciting workshop “Creating Adventures with Artificial Intelligence” took place at the Salesianes Sepulveda School, where children from 4th and 5th grade delved into the fascinating world of AI. This event aimed not only to teach these young creators how to use artificial intelligence technology to improve their storytelling skills, but also to instill in them important ethical and creative values.
Exploring AI: ChatGPT and More
During the workshop the children learned what artificial intelligence is and how tools such as ChatGPT can be used to enhance their creativity. Although all participants were aware of AI and ChatGPT, only 20% had previously interacted with these technologies. This opened up a great opportunity for most to experience first-hand the power of AI.
Workshop Activities
The workshop was structured in several key activities:
- Mold your protagonist: The children used AI to create unique and fascinating main characters. The technology allowed them to explore different personalities and attributes for their protagonists, fostering their limitless creativity.
- Dream Architect: With the help of AI, participants designed spectacular universes for their adventures. By imagining new worlds and visualizing breathtaking scenarios, they learned how to bring their stories to life in innovative ways.
- Sowing Values: They integrated deep values into their stories, using AI as a tool to enrich their narratives. This activity highlighted the importance of ethical and moral values in the creation of stories.
- Final Reflection: At the end of the workshop, the children shared and reflected on their creations. This session not only allowed them to receive constructive feedback, but also to understand the impact of AI on creativity and ethics. In addition, each child received a certificate of participation as a souvenir.
Impact and Future
The workshop was not only an educational experience, but also a space for the children to explore new technologies and understand their potential in the creative realm. Most of the children, who had never used AI before, were fascinated by the possibilities it offers.
